Yes, but Clinton was such a lousy candidate/campaigner that she would have done the same stupid shit against Jeb or anyone else. Losing to Trump just magnified that.

When I was building lecture material for the Obama stuff, I laughed to see that she did sweet fuck all in Iowa in '07-'08, while he was assembling an amazing ground game, because she had all kinds of endorsements and stuff and was confident that voters would just default to her. Way to fail the class twice, Hillary. Maybe you're too fucking dumb for politics.

DNC flaks already tried to festoon her on a suitably upper-class upstate NY Congressional district for '18, but then the initial internal polling last year came back as "Too soon, brah...too soon" so the idea was quickly withdrawn and denials swiftly issued that it was ever considered in the first place.

With a new round of Bernard Brother Madness kicking off online (this time because of some innocuous comments about the Ds terrible record during Obama's presidency), I'm still astonished at how defensive and threatened people who would undoubtedly describe themselves as "progressives"/"allies"/etc are by a very middle-of-the-road social democrat.

However, doesn't it reinforce the fundamental fact that liberal is not the same thing as socialist/social democrat? Liberals are not of the left, no matter how much conservatives like to foam at the mouth about Hillary as a Trotskyite, or liberals like to think they have critical cachet. Sanders ain't all that radical, but enough so to expose the dyed-in-the-wool centrism of liberals/progressives.

Even better/worse, by tying Sanders' criticism as somehow gauche or racist, given the anniversary of MLK's assassination, it requires a willful ignorance of King's criticism of American life, of which Sanders is closer than Obama. Obsma really has become the liberal Reagan, where supporters ignore what they want about his actions and positions to make the man above criticism.

Sanders didn't even really criticize Obama, he called him brilliant. He said that his charisma blinded a lot of Dems to the fact they were being completely decimated at other levels of government.
