I have zero faith that justice will be done.
What is your definition of justice in this case?
A single term Trump presidency.
One way or another—resignation or election—I believe that quite likely. I don't need to reiterate my argument about why his re-election is so damned tough, but I will say that I haven't seen anything in the last month or so that suggests his prospects have improved. It's a weird community here where, unlike the real world, I get to be the Pollyanna.
Is it because you're Canadian?
By national stereotype, Canadians are nowhere near as optimistic as Americans. We're the Debbie Downers of North America.

Our founding European nationalities are French and Scottish. Those are not the primary ingredients for an optimistic national character.

I would imagine they would much rather see Pence as president. As would their evangelical base.
Deep down, definitely—unlike Trump, he rose thru the GOP congressional incubation chamber. But politically Pence is seriously wounded by his extreme toadying, and piety has been exposed as bullshit to the evangelical base given their devotion to Trump. Pence would be a serious lame duck if it falls into his lap.
And Trump has been throwing Pence under the bus like mad on this. I don't think he'd be impeached too, but if Trump actually gets ousted from office I think Pence is gonna be so toxic that he won't be able to do much of anything.

I've read speculation that he's dragging Pence in to raise the spectre of President Pelosi, but I'm skeptical that Trump is (a) aware of the order of succession and (b) strategically thinks that far ahead. He's a user who treats everyone around him as disposable (the daughter he lusts for excepted). No way the Democrats would pursue impeachment of Pence and even less likely the Senate would convict.

But I'd love for some Fox weasel to suggest that Pence was behind the whistleblower, just so Trump's lizard brain turns on his most loyal lackey. And then he strokes out while sitting on the toilet.

I'm genuinely torn as to whether Rudy is legitimately unhinged or this is performative crazy to just be disruptive and muddy the waters.

I watched the interview and wow. What a fruit loop. That dude is a total nutjob. But, yeah, he has a gift for obfuscation.
