Disgusting...clearly just hoping to see his name in print to be perceived as a part of the big orange turd team.JennyB wrote: ↑30 Dec 2020, 1:17pmThis utter POS is one of my senators. I'm about to call his office and let him have it.

Which group of Republicans is worse—those who are overt authoritarians or those who provide them some legitimacy by not bolting the party? Because the "good" ones are saying that, in essence, they still see they have plenty in common with the fascists.JennyB wrote: ↑30 Dec 2020, 1:17pmThis utter POS is one of my senators. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
Louisiana congressman-elect dies of Covid
Luke Letlow was to have been sworn in Sunday.

I almost prefer the overt authoritarians - at least they are upfront with what they're doing.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑30 Dec 2020, 2:05pmWhich group of Republicans is worse—those who are overt authoritarians or those who provide them some legitimacy by not bolting the party? Not an original (or even interesting) observation, but many Western nations have literally invaded countries, enacted sanctions, supported coups, etc for less than this.
Looking forward the next round of Serious Political Commentators smugly decrying antidemocratic elections on the evening news when something happens in South America or wherever.

Re: The Future of the Republican Party
Here's a fun fact about Mitch Snapperturtle: His first wife, after the divorce, came out as a lesbian and became a women's studies professor at Smith College. Apparently she's writing/written a memoir. [insert obvious joke about sex with Mitch turning a woman lesbian]
