Another possible upside is Bobo now knows that 49.9% of Colorado voters want nothing to do with her.Flex wrote: ↑17 Nov 2022, 11:59pmAll over but the crying (and a mandatory recount that won't change the outcome) in CO-3 after the ballot cure and remaining overseas ballots are now tabulated. Ah, well. Fuck of a lot closer than I (or anyone) thought it would be. Will Boebert learn anything? Not likely. Will the seat be competitive again in two years? Who knows, but I'm sure it'll get serious support next time around.
On the upside, Boebert's continued presence more or less keeps trump's presence lashed to the neck of the colorado democratic party.
500-ish vote difference. That's crazy-small for a seat like that.

Re: The Future of the Republican Party
These shitstains are governed by a couple supporting, yet also competing fantasies. One is that they have the misfortune to be born white and male, truly the worst combination for starting out in life. They are the victimmest of victims. The other fantasy is that, god fucking dammit, one day we're going to rise up against our oppressors, and wreak a bloody vengeance on them.
Yet, whenever one of their noble brood actually acts out on fantasy number two, we quickly see how fantasy number one is far more important, far more satisfying and embedded in their identity. The shooter was a lone wolf, he had mental problems, it was a false flag, it was antifa agents. Time after time, when they could embrace the success of a fantasy revenge coming to pass, nope, not if it dislodges fantasy number one.

Re: The Future of the Republican Party
Local colorado print news is doing really good work contextualizing this. The alleged shooter was involved in a bomb threat against his mother about a year and a half ago and the extremely hard-right-wing-controlled El Paso County sheriff's office could have flagged him under Colorado's red flag laws but chose not to because of an ideological oppositon to said laws. The office will only pursue a red flag law tag if specifically requested and pursued by the victim. As a result, El Paso county has some of the lowest rates of red flag law investigations in the state. The family didn't pursue anything against their own son, nothing happened, not a bunch of people have been murdered in a hate crime.
All of this is just absolutely the foreseeable - and encouraged - consequence of right wing policymaking and local governance.

Wow, that story needs to get some national media attention. Shame on them for allowing politics to get in the way of protecting the people.Flex wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 1:22pmLocal colorado print news is doing really good work contextualizing this. Isn't CS also a red flag sanctuary city? That city is such garbage.Flex wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 1:22pmLocal colorado print news is doing really good work contextualizing this.
