His doom was in saying his colleagues were a bunch of perverts. You can turn against your country, but don't turn against the party.JennyB wrote: ↑05 May 2022, 3:48pmThe sad thing is that THIS might be what is his undoing. Question, does this help or hurt his efforts?
My wife and I were talking last. Ight and it seems the worse things Republicans do and/or are accused of the better their chances of getting support or even elected.

Re: The Future of the Republican Party
We were talking about this in our house yesterday. In theory (I think), growing polarization should help liberals because Democrats' problem tends to be turnout (well, that and gerrymandering). Angry right-wingers vote. Liberals don't get angry or fearful enough to vote reliably. So does ratcheting up the sense of the stakes get liberals off their ass in sufficient numbers?

Well it sure seems like that's been the case these past few years. I have to wonder, just where do they draw the line on inexcusable behavior?

Perhaps I’m a bit leftist, but Cawthorn is total piece of shit and is 100% deserving of this defacement. Fuck him.Sparky wrote: ↑10 May 2022, 8:48amWell it sure seems like that's been the case these past few years. I have to wonder, just where do they draw the line on inexcusable behavior?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Because they do it just to be contrary and own the libs rather than for anything real. It's like a hobby for them.

Exactly, Ive sometimes likened it more to sports but very much the same asshole behavior. There's a guy at work who must check his Fox talking points before he heads out each morning. Completely incapable of independent thought.Kory wrote: ↑10 May 2022, 3:50pmBecause they do it just to be contrary and own the libs rather than for anything real. It's like a hobby for them.

The message was not overtly threatening," Wade Betters, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department, told the outlet, which also reported that the message was no longer visible by Monday afternoon.
"We are grateful to the Bangor police officers and the City public works employee who responded to the defacement of public property in front of our home," the senator told the Bangor Daily News

Amazing how many books have been published about trump, several by celebrated multi-award winning investigative reporters, and still the well shows no signs of running dry.Sparky wrote: ↑10 May 2022, 6:13pmYou just can make this shit up.
