I really, really wish I could be a vegan, but I unfortunately like steak and seafood too much. Especially scallops. And really, what have those fuckers ever done to redeem themselves, anyway?
Got a Rake? Sure!

Well scallops have a tendency to clam up about such issues.JennyB wrote:I really, really wish I could be a vegan, but I unfortunately like steak and seafood too much. Especially scallops. And really, what have those fuckers ever done to redeem themselves, anyway?

I largely gave up beef for a year and have still cut way back due to the drought. I love beef, but god damn it's environmentally taxing. And even if/when the drought ends, I'll still want to limit it because it's taxing beyond just water consumption (methane production for example).JennyB wrote:I really, really wish I could be a vegan, but I unfortunately like steak and seafood too much. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

So if we don't eat the cows then mankind will perish in a cloud of methane.matedog wrote:I largely gave up beef for a year and have still cut way back due to the drought.
