I don't think so, any more than how any other addiction slowly seizes control over a person. The platform—and other social media sites—are engineered to encourage addiction and we should think of it in that manner.

Same playbook as Trump and, to a lesser extent, W. It's all very postmodern/hippie: if you can convince people to buy into your invented reality, who's to say it isn't truly real?

Funny, I as I was watching it I was thinking the same thing. Neither is a "self made man", both rode coattails to get where they are.

The one genuine skill is shamelessly using connections to get in on other people's innovation, take credit for what succeeds, or skirt blame when it flops. Most people are haunted by stuff like a conscience and ethics to pull it off.
