Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Re: The Dictator observations thread.
Very good and thoughtful piece on the problem of having too much information and civic-mindedness.

It reminds me of a couple things. One is Joseph Heath's book from a few years back, Enlightenment 2.0, in which he argues, in part, that our flood of information makes us less critical-minded because thinking critically is hard work, that it takes time and concentration, which is difficult when we're constantly being bombarded with information, especially information packaged in anger and urgency. The other thing is that we seem to be adopting a crisis perspective to so much of everything. Nazis and Communists, to cite two, take that perspective. Everything is urgent and requiring righteous response because we're in crisis, evil is looming if not winning, so do something, anything to stop it. Nazis and Communists value action over reflection. Most of us don't go as far as physically assaulting people or blowing up building or what have you, but the same kind of motivation might be at work with the posting of conspiracy videos and the like. That kind of, yeah, I've done my part to combat evil.
