Also, I looked at the front page of this thread and laughed at my naive idiocy:

Seriously, one thing that's good about this election is that thanks to demographics and mortality rates, this is the last presidential election that the Republican appeal to angry white men—basically, Nixon's Southern Strategy or variations of the same, which have been part of every campaign since '68—can be a successful methodology. If it wants to be a viable national party, the GOP will have to abandon (or at least seriously moderate) its racism as campaign strategy and, perhaps, policy.

I was listening to a podcast where they were discussing this. Basically that we are realizing the demographic is not going to be as clean and decisive as we expected. Florida seems to show that the Latino vote is far more complex (For lack of a better word) than we had considered.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

The early analysis shows that Trump did worse with white voters, especially women, than 2016, but gained with POC and LGBT voters. And, perhaps even weirder, he succeeded in counties with the worst COVID-19 outbreaks this fall. It's just a nonstop "what's the matter of Kansas" at first glimpse. He has this inverted appeal—he attracted the people who should loathe him for being a rich white incompetent bigot crook.

It's a key element of how colonialism succeeds. Get enough of the colonized to buy into the dominant power's ideology and use them to divide the opposition. It's still jawdroppingly insane.

Im genuinely happy right now (yes Im capable). We went downtown earlier and it was a mass of people and vehicles full of people celebrating. 70 fucking degrees in November it was a beautiful thing, literally in many cases (sorry but Im not fucking dead). My son has picked up the grumpy mantle, several steps backwards and 1 forward was his response. Yes Ive been drinking.

I am going, I am going where streams of whiskey are flowing.
