Good sound. Can't stand the drummer. Power yes, swing no. BMC says there are six more audio tracks from the soundboard, aside from a poor audience tape. Anyone got the good ones?

exactly what i think. is that Jack Irons from Pearl Jam or the other guy? i don't even like the look of him, nor his stupid shouty backing vox.TeddyB Not Logged In wrote:Good sound. yeah, him. cheers, Teddy.TeddyB Not Logged In wrote:Willie McNeil.
i hate to be a negative creep about a fellow drummer, but he and Irons just didn't work for the style(s) of music that Strummer was into. odd how those guys got the gig with LRW. (worked cheap?). very good players in their own idioms, but don't work for Joe's rock n' roll-all-over-the world vibe. plus they got a shit mix on 'Earthquake Weather', which wasn't their fault. ('Permanent Record' sounded better; was that McNeil on those tracks?).

Didn't Strummer chose Irons based on his drummerly name? The man had some comic book priorities at times.muppet hi fi wrote:yeah, him. cheers, Teddy.TeddyB Not Logged In wrote:Willie McNeil.

Great energy from Joe but those backing vocals are awful. He never did find another vocal foil after the split with Mick.
