anyone got separated tracks for the songs joe did with the pogues for i hired a contract killer?
i got several versions of afro-cuban be-bop and burning lights but the rest is kind of missing. great movie.

well, remembered that the early versions of burning lights were ripped directly from the movie. was prob hoping someone might have done the same with the rest of the tracks. and with when pigs fly surfacing with improved quality recently i got excited again...

The only song I recognise from that list is Need Your Love So Bad which I think is a Peter Green original. Gary Moore does a brilliant live version of it.

I keep forgetting what a cracking little ditty Afro Cuban Be Bop is, love that era Joe.

the video-file i got is 1hr 19mins but i’m completely lost here as i have no idea as to how they are supposed to sound. around 1:10 there’s some jazzy background music, but doesn’t sound like joe. i'm starting to think these tracks are not even in the version of the movie i got but left somewhere in the desert with the rest of the wilderness catalogue stuff...

It's years since I watched that movie, but can only remember the 2 Joe songs from it. He's definitely nothing to do with Need Your Love anyway, no way that's ever a Joe song. Are you sure that's not just a mistake in the listings?

While trying to locate my copy of Bond show of June 01 (my guess is this is MIA), I stumbled upon a CD copy of "I Hired A Contract Killer" with 2 Joe tracks.

This 10 year old thread mentioned someone was looking for the full soundtrack, so I hunted down them on YouTube, downloaded as .mp4 and converted to both .flac and .mp3 versions. If this has already been discovered, then ignore this message.

This is extremely well done, although it is missing "General Election” by Lord Beginner, as well as “Young Girl” and “Don't Play With Love" by Little Willie John, the latter was missing from the credits but was featured in the film. Also, this is gonna sound nitpicky, but the film features the original 1940 version of “Body and Soul” instead of the re-recorded 1957 version. Nevertheless, well done.

The Strummer tracks are sourced from the 001 Set, so they are unfortunately brickwalled (and sound like needledrops?). Here they are from other sources:
