Re: TFIU - North American DVD Release July 8
"The DVD version of the original two-hour THE FUTURE IS UNWRITTEN, which is presented in 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound audio, is now augmented with an additional 100 minutes of bonfire interviews not seen in the film’s original theatrical version. Entitled “Conversations With Joe,” the bonus interviews include many of the aforementioned personalities. In addition to Strummer’s narration, there is also a feature-length audio commentary by Temple that runs the duration of the film. The program is completed with the original theatrical trailer."BR16ADE_R055E wrote:Press Release:

Sounds like it's the same as the UK release.

No No. It's different, it's Region 01.BR16ADE_R055E wrote:Sounds like it's the same as the UK release.BR16ADE_R055E wrote:Press Release:

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Now that my cheapo all region dvd player has crapped out, it'd be nice to be able to play that (and my copy of Rude Boy for that matter) alas, I ripped it onto my computer, so I can just burn it on a good ole, American made DVD if I want.BR16ADE_R055E wrote:Heh...I'm still planning to get it despite having the UK release...how about you?matedog wrote:No No. It's different, it's Region 01.BR16ADE_R055E wrote:Sounds like it's the same as the UK release.BR16ADE_R055E wrote:Press Release:

Unreleased live clash footage? They got my attention. Oh shit that's today. I should be at the store.BR16ADE_R055E wrote:
edit: After looking around at what's on the dvd, I'm guessing that unreleased footage applies to the footage in the movie, not some new bonus features. Meh.
