Wasn't sure if you couldn't here Isaac Hayes the way Briggy can't hear Joe.
Clear as an (elevator) bell now.
I was surprised you could hear Joe in “U.S. North,” but not Chef/Isaac.
It just sounded like a bit of mumbling really, it never totally spoiled my enjoyment of the South Park version.
Yes, mumbling that sounds like Chef/Isaac.
Hang on, I never watched the show, how in god's name would I have known that a five second snatch of background mumbling was the legendary singer, Isaac Hayes?

Thanks for this. I kind of hate this song. Beside the insufferable Southpark noise, it sounds like Joe trying too hard to be the Clash again—or, maybe, Rancid. It comes across as inauthentic, which is so out of character. That said, I'd bet a demo version would be good.
I always thought it sounded more like a 101ers throwback than The Clash. Sounds like Joe enjoying himself.
Yeah, maybe I'm being too harsh. It's possible I'm just carrying around the Southpark baggage from the time. You're right, it does sound like he's enjoying himself.
And I’ve never seen SouthPark so I just enjoy the song.
I should check to compare the timeline to when he did Return Of The Blues Cowboy.
Return of the Blues Cowboy is easily my least favourite thing Strummer ever did.

I never watched the show, either. Hated it. But there's a video snippet of Joe and Chef in The Future is Unwritten, which you must have seen.

And legendary actor. He was on The Rockford Files and in Escape from New York.

I knew Hayes was Chef and yeah I've seen that. Just never knew his mumble was let loose on the recording. If it had been some soulful vocal extemporizing I may just have noticed!

Hello,

Although the above bold text may seem like an oxymoron, I have experienced this phenomenon. I never watched Friends ... but I hated it.

Never heard Return of the Blue Cowboy until just now. It seems inoffensively unimpressive. Everyone hates Jools Holland though right? I don't know shit about him so this seems like a bland retread.

Boogie With Your Children makes my ears bleed.

I think I saw snippets somewhere, but never actually watched the show. Didn't care for the animation or the voices of characters.

Snap. My daughter watches it now and it's worse than I ever imagined.

I was talking to a fellow Clash fan on Facebook, just a young lad of 19, and his favourite Joe song is Boogie With Your Children. I was then aghast to learn his favourite album is Cut the Crap. I told him to check this place out immediately.

Is it possible he discovered the Clash and Strummer by hitting "I'm Feeling Lucky" on Google?

Real talk: we need to all agree eumaas needs to remain a teen instead of being...how old is he really now? 50? At any rate, his actual age is far too old for my own relative age to feel young.
