ROUND 4 - Streetcore, Side 1

Take those arms down.

Again, REMEMBER TO VOTE FOR THE SONG YOU LIKE LEAST. I'm a Labour supporter so no fucking do-overs.

"Moses" is my favourite Meskies song, but "Coma Girl" has such a joyous energy to it. Whatever the result, I hope it's close.

This is a brutal choice. Just two top-tier Joe songs from any point in his career and, I imagine, tons of personal resonance for all of us. Went with Coma Girl because I still feel myself get elated when it blasts through the speakers. The kind of musical high that makes all this obsession worthwhile.

EDIT: To clarify, I voted Get Down Moses in support of Coma Girl.

The split decision came down to too many gangs in Coma.

Lyrically Coma Girl is a bit weak

Yeah. It’s a damn joyous delight, but when I first heard GDM (St. Anne’s 4/2, I think) I assumed he was covering a timeless reggae classic that I somehow missed out on.

Both great songs. Won't fret either winning/losing. Gave GDM the vote since Coma Girl is just so damn fun. Plus Joe's voice cracks in the intro and that's such a nice touch.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Never got the big love for Moses. Coma Girl is just a brilliant feelgood tune, one of Joe's best solo efforts for me.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board
