ROUND 7 - Earthquake Weather, Side 2
We asked the Shouting Street to tone it down a bit. Island Hopping won it's side. Congrats to hopping around islands.
On to side two!
On to side two!
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Jewellers & Bums for me here. So forgettable, I also included it on the non-album polls since I forgot it was also an album track.

Aw, come on. People already voting for Ride Your Donkey? It’s not the best cover, but it’s joyful and I can actually remember what it sounds like.

Yup.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I'm pulling for Leopardskin Limousines on this one. Such a cool moody track.

I'll be honest here, I can't remember how four of these songs go. I've heard the album about 50 times or more as well.

Ride Your Donkey and Sleepwalk are the only ones I can recall. I'm in a more enviable position than you as I'll bet I haven't listened to that record more than a dozen times.

They're the two I remember, plus the chorus of Highway One Zero Street.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑03 Jul 2019, 1:51pmRide Your Donkey and Sleepwalk are the only ones I can recall. I'm in a more enviable position than you as I'll bet I haven't listened to that record more than a dozen times.

Oh come on, you remember Leopardskin Limousines—it's the piano ballad. And Sikorsky is the funk song that BWYC should have been.

It's the only song on the side that I know what it sounds like without listening to it.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Seems like the song of choice for people who don't like the album.101Walterton wrote: ↑03 Jul 2019, 5:55pmThis.

i've given the album so many chances, more than it deserves.drowninghere wrote: ↑03 Jul 2019, 6:16pmSeems like the song of choice for people who don't like the album.101Walterton wrote: ↑03 Jul 2019, 5:55pmThis.
The only songs I really like are Shouting St, Island Hopping, Ride Your Donkey and Sleepwalk. King of the Bayou and Gangsterville are ok. The rest are just rambling mush to me.

I would actually say I kind of like EW, but these are also the only songs on it that I can pick out of lineup without listening to it recently.Heston wrote: ↑03 Jul 2019, 6:40pmi've given the album so many chances, more than it deserves.drowninghere wrote: ↑03 Jul 2019, 6:16pmSeems like the song of choice for people who don't like the album.
