I can't believe the last two, and what will be the eventual winner, even though I've seen it all unfolding in front of my eyes.

Snap mate.

I'm surprised it's this lopsided.
Don't be.

Absolutely. Here's another collection of words:

Table salt (spoon hinge)
Octopus (Ukraine)
St. Petersburg (arms)
Ginger beer (cauliflower)
Pat Sajak (PSak)
Lamp post (self evident)
Florida Timeshare (ditto)
Heraclitus (EMI)
Developers (Developers Developers)
Boogie With Your Children

I like Trash City less.
Word. Repetitive melodically to its detriment.
GDM is pretty repetitive. The verse is the same as the chorus. You have a little bridge and the occasional rundown but it is mostly a vamp from Am to Dm.

True but TC is also chordally repetitive. And GDM is hardly full of melodic twists and turns. That isn't a problem in itself as I love songs like London Calling which is hardly melodic. It's just that neither song is anywhere near to best Strummer song for me but the crowd have spoken.
Why should I plan for the future? Let the future make plans for me.

This poll was sabotaged!!
I like TC and as I said previously GDM is almost Joe’s best song ever but somewhere between the live versions and subsequent studio recording something got lost. Or may just be Joe didn’t agree with the version in my head with the gospel choir???
