I saw them in Oct 99 at Glasgow Barrowlands and it was like a religious experience after all those years.
I was at that gig too. I heard you and your mate shouting, "1,2,1,2,3,4..."
My finest moment.

We were lucky enough to catch the first official show at The Lomax in Liverpool

Whilst we are getting nostalgic about early Joe shows and personal experiences of seeing Joe live again - how many of us feature in Ant Davies book The History Of Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros and if so what page are you on?

I've got the book which is good but I'm not in it. My memory of Clash gigs is mostly hazy due to too much drink and speed. My clearest memory is always the RAR gig as I was so young and full of nervous energy. Seeing The Ruts and Misty in Roots playing on a flat bed truck on the way to the gig was great.

I'm on the credits page. Nearly fell off my chair in surprise when I saw it!

Thanks very much White Man, and I shared the link with Ant Davie, who tells me that this was the first Mescaleros show to which he went.

Hopefully this works. Good news about BMC, thanks. I had spotted that the home page was back up.
