Sleepwalk is a really inspired choice imo, really great song which joe does ample justice to though i always wondered what Sinatra might have done with it if that unlikely dream had ever been fulfilled. In a different way, i shudder to think what might have happened to Shouting Street if the estimable Jose Unidos had ever got his busy mitts on it.

Red vinyl already sold out in preorders by the looks of it.

Listened to this tracklist this morning and it really does work well. It plays up the 'Clash reggae' sound, which is no bad thing although not the most representative of the Mescaleros overall. I really think this comp has a good chance to convert some new fans.
Also think it's interesting that I've read somewhere that the Meskies felt they needed to pepper their sets with upbeat Clash numbers to keep the crowds engaged, and Dark Horse came to the same conclusion, literally dropping some live Clash recordings into their Best Of collection. I enjoy their sprawling atmospheric vibe but surely most people just want to hear The Clash 2.0, which is more or less what this aims to be.

Try independent record stores- Rough Trade etc. It’s not just the likes of uDiscover and SoundofVinyl that are stocking it.

Studio or live?
It's studio, acoustic. Lots of reverb, very loose.

Sounds like it could be the same version as on 'Afro Cuban Be-Bop', one of a few albums I bought through this site many, many years ago.
