Perhaps they got mixed up with the Strummer reference in one of the songs?

Strummer in the city where the air is still

I wasn't sure whether you were joking or not, but I did like your suggested lyrics!

I saw that write-up in a marketing email from the usually much respected Cherry Red Records.
History being rewritten due to lack of fact checking, shock.
C- - v poor, must try harder etc

PS I was delighted this week to bag a brand new, sealed copy of Cherry Red's post punk box set 'To The Outside of Everything' - long out of print and going for silly money.
'consciousrecords' seem to sell all the Cherry Red catalogue and are perhaps affiliated to them.

We aim to please!

Cherry Red seem in general to be doing a good job with reissues. The main criticism I have read in some cases is that the quality of recordings isn't always great e.g. there can sometimes be vinyl rips of some of the tracks.

Looks good too. What a dream job it must be to work at a place like Cherry Red trawling the vaults and compiling box sets like that 😁
Ps yes, they do sometimes use vinyl rips as sources but considering some of the obscure stuff they choose to reissue, I’m not surprised the masters have vanished, and I can forgive them…

Don't disagree with that, I guess they just need Marky to remaster them!

In an ideal world, Marky would be the go-to, gun-for-hire to oversee back catalogue (and unreleased) gems by all our faves...

Wouldn't that be great? Maybe someday when Marky gets bored spoiling us with his works, he can post his resume over on Linkedin for Sony to see.
