Will probably get the cheaper one...fuck knows who's spending £500 on one of these...I can almost guarantee that none of the £500 ones will ever be sold for more then that price... crazy

Good lord. What's in the ultimate super duper version?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Remember when Gang of Four did a deluxe version where you got a vial of their blood? Maybe the super deluxe book gets you a piece of Joe bone fragment.

Think it's all mainly to do with being signed by the photographer and the type of box it comes in/a couple of prints...and the limited edition etc etc...the book looks good but £500 you could get 001 box/soundsystem and the remastered album box with probably enough for a crate of Guinness too...

They unearth his corpse, put a pen in his hand and "sign" the book.

No offense to the estimable Ralph, but isn’t that line from London’s Brilliant, a song written for Wendy James to sing by Elvis Costello and Cait O’Riordan? “Digging up the bones of Strummer and Jones…”

You are correct, that was second on the list when I googled the phrase! Ralph was first.

So it is 5,000 and "limited" to 1,000 copies. That means if he is able to sell them all he gets 5m for a fucking book?

Looking at the 2 different ads SM posted, it’s £5000 for the books numbered #2-10 (which include some extras like a signed note and print) and £1000 for the books numbered #101-1000, which don’t include the extras. That leaves the books numbered #1 and #11-100 unaccounted for. So, it looks like £945,000 total for the 909 copies advertised. Unless I’m misunderstanding.

All this makes me think of something Brian Eno said a few months ago: “NFTs seem to me just a way for artists to get a little piece of the action from global capitalism, our own cute little version of financialization. How sweet—now artists can become little capitalist assholes as well.”
