Interesting, interesting. While I've never liked the record much, I find it more interesting, potentially more salvageable than CTC.

It is if only for the equipment used. On some of these tracks Joe seems like he's trying too hard to forge an identity that isn't his. Like a Guthrie/Dylan/Springsteen thing. Forgetting to be Joe Strummer. Sure those guys have been great inspirations to Joe through his years but this record feel like he's allowed those to take over.

I think that’s a fair assessment. If both CTC and EW are failed experiments, EW is searching for something that’s closer to who Joe was, or at least wanted to be. I just don’t hear anything in CTC that seems Strummer. To the degree that CTC contains his input, it’s him running away from things. CTC is so foreign to me in terms of Strummer’s body of work that I just don’t see value in making sense of it. EW, tho, is something else. It’s not there yet, but it’s closer.

Wow Marky, just listened to Jewellers & Bums from your remix. You have really captured a clear vocal, seemingly minus the majority of the double tracked vocals and the whoas that accompanied the verses.

Another great job and credit to your audio skills and advances in the software that creates the separate elements.

Someone please get Marky in charge of official re-releases. This is, as Telecaster said, so clear. Thanks Marky, you are a star.

Hi Marky, have you experimented with the mix of Global a go go?
I would be interested in what you could construct from Joe's most cohesive solo album. What would X-Ray Style sound like without the percussion for example.

Thank you for the latest remixes, its great to hear nuances that have been buried under very murky original mixes. It must be hours of work constructing mixes and equalising volumes. Cheers

Was Paul Simon and his Graceland album an influence at this time?

Haven't heard Marky's remaster yet but I will say CTC is a much much better album than EW. The former has a melodic quality that is totally missing on the latter.

Could well be, Telecaster. Joe was a big fan of the Graceland album.
