I’m guessing this will be overpriced for what it is. They also probably could have fit the entire show on a 7”.

Joe Strummer release for Record Store Day Black Friday
Re: Joe Strummer release for Record Store Day Black Friday
I see what you mean about the 7" idea. I thought at first it was a 10-song set, then saw it was the same tracks on both sides!Mike77 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2022, 12:18pmI’m guessing this will be overpriced for what it is. They also probably could have fit the entire show on a 7”.

I've heard of promo singles occasionally having the same track on both sides, but is this a first for an LP?!
Why not split the 5 songs over both sides for a nice 12" EP, cut at 45rpm with better sound quality? Very odd.
Anyway at least this stuff surfacing in any shape is welcome. One day I hope to see a release for the in-store done at the London HMV megastore at this time. Ideally on video - Don Letts was there with a pro-looking video camera
Ignore Alien Hors d'oeuvres

I guess that's better than the blank side on the Combat Rock reissue?JohnS wrote: ↑15 Sep 2022, 12:53pmI see what you mean about the 7" idea. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

The RSD releases are always a bit overpriced in my opinion, it's a shame it's not colored vinyl or a picture disc to make the price a bit more bearable.Mike77 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2022, 12:18pmI’m guessing this will be overpriced for what it is. They also probably could have fit the entire show on a 7”.
