Thank you Marky. A fitting anniversary tribute to Joe.
We have been spoiled by your generous and imaginatively curated Clash/Strummer work this year. I hope you can have a well deserved rest.

What an understatement, that's a whole heck of a lot, thanks for all the hard work Marky.

Diggin' The New is an interesting one. On Rock Art, it has always come across as a bit awkward to me with its inspired, forward-looking lyric set to the most retro music on the whole album.

Hearing this original version really blows the cobwebs away as to the original inspiration of the lyrics, as the acid-punk thing truly was new. I can understand why he decided to retool it as while it's enjoyable it doesn't quite hit the heights I'd like, but I'm left wondering whether there could have been a middle ground between the two versions -- perhaps a more subdued electronic element throughout, or a 'White Man' approach with electronic elements in the verse and a straight rockin' chorus.

Oh well. Glad to be able to enjoy both now in such good quality.

Thank you so much Marky, this is amazing.

To everyone else, any spelling mistakes on the artwork are my fault!

Yeah it's a great track. I think the compromise is the Mescaleros. This is when I met Joe as he was working with Norro and he told that me he had stuff that was a bit different to what he was known for. He seemed really enthused about the tracks.

Richard Norris is very underrated in my opinion the stuff he did with Dave Ball from Soft Cell as The Grid is excellent.

But back to Joe these tracks were never going to work in a live format with Joe, Richard and Pablo and it's clear that a full band is where Joe works best.

Thanks all for the kind words glad you are enjoying it. Hopefully it covers the gaps and does Joe's legacy a bit more justice.
