I think the thing that makes the most sense is a TV series like Pistol but instead of it being a single season it would be as follows:

Season 1 - Formation and S/T
Season 2 - Jamaica & GEER etc
Season 3 - London Calling inc Guy Stevens backstory
Seasons 4,5,6 - Sandinista!
Season 7 - Rat Patrol / Combat Rock
Christmas Special - Cut the crap
