I agree. Not just fans either, I think that applies across the board. Music being a great example. There are those you can tell mean it and those you can tell are doing what they think they should to impress.

Hi, I'm Tom and I'm the chap that made this video. I saw in YouTube analytics that someone had posted a link here and that piqued my interest so I've signed up :)

It lovely to read the nice complimentary words on here, thank you so much and I'm glad you enjoyed the vid. It was obviously a joy to make, what a privilege! It does spark a question in me though. What is it about other things you've watched that made you sceptical of this one at first?
For me I do see a lot of vids where you can just see the person thinks they are it and that does put me off. Also some are just too slick aren't they but it did surprise that some of you seem to have clicked and watched whilst thinking you were going to be watching a bit of a d**K. I do that too ofc but am just interested in your YouTube experiences :D
Hi Tom, it was I who initially posted the link to your video here.
I can't recall how I originally came across it. Probably via the YouTube 'new to you' selection.
I watch quite a few YouTube videos but often start them and don't finish them. Various reasons for this. Sometimes it's because I find them to long and feel they could do with editing. Other times I don't rate or can't relate to the presenter / narrator. Another reason is I find that sometimes I'm watching someone confidently talk about a subject that they maybe don't know that much about but make out that they do.
That's just a few examples of why I often feel sceptical when I start watching a video.

Cheers for the reply and cheers for posting the link 👍
I pretty much do the same to be fair. Once I find a channel I like I tend to watch them pretty consistently but it's not that often I find a new one that I gel with. It's a treat when I do to be honest.
I do a lot of bouncing straight back out the door I'm afraid, I know that hurts their channel a bit but you only get so much data and time don't you. Generally new channels come to me on recommendations from people so if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.
