Joe Strummer and the mariachi songs
Any news about the mariachi songs? Those demos are save or lost?
Re: Joe Strummer and the mariachi songs
think those recordings and any of the Soul Vendors is the holy grail at this point. maybe side 7 & 8 of Sandinista! too..
Re: Joe Strummer and the mariachi songs
You talking about the 84 session?
Never even heard about it until I think Ralph’s book so unlikely it comes out ever unless the Strummer fam has access and releases it as part of a 003 box. And the fact that they are Clash songs complicates matters. Not going to get any kind of release otherwise.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
