In Bindhi Baghee, Joe mentions he's walking down some high road or other and that nowhere around can be found mushy peas. I gotta call bull on this because I was able to find mushy peas pretty easily wherever I was. Where is this pea-less high road?
At some mush in Shepherds Bush.

Of course Joe could've pointed the guy to any number of greasy spoons dishing up the hearty old staple, but he was trying to do the guy a favour, basically saying forget that horrible mush mate and go get yourself some proper nosh.

I bought some Trevor Francis track suits from a mush in Shepherds Bush once.

I think the song is merely trying to show the cultural diversity here. Sure the guy could get mushy peas in London but less traditionally so than other parts of the country and that what was once was a staple food of a particular area is now totally absorbed into all cultures.

Yeah, i recall a discussion along these lines before. I was familiar with those locations, more Kilburn/Cricklewood side but not far off, from late 80s/early 90s and the changes when I revisited a decade or more later were startling. Mostly positive, i thought.

It's what makes us really. That diversity and acceptance of cultures. Even with the old British stereotypes and piss taking where those that know get it and those that don't never will.

Nope it didn't and it's sourced from Mp3s. The show was included in the big Joe box set I put together and shared called "Without People You're Nothing". I remastered and it sounds better.

I do all this leg work for you guys to prevent you having to shell out you hard earned for old rope.😉

Was watching some programme on Glastonbury when Sharleen Spiteri popped up briefly talking about her love of the Clash, the fact she used a black & white tele out of homage to Joe and how as a kid she was sure he was singing "Sharleen don't like it" on Casbah. Anyway, both Texas and the Meskies were on the bill in 1999, Joe had seen her talk about her love of the Clash in an interview so sought her out before her set to hang out for a bit and wish her well. Honestly can't say I'm very familiar with her stuff, but enjoyed the story all the same.

The Earthquake Weather Album artwork makes a nice looking T-shirt. I searched websites for used 1989 tour shirts. The ones I found were in bad shape or priced to high. I found a T-Shirt maker on-line willing to print the image for me. The colors are not as bright as a screen print, but i'm happy how the direct to shirt print looks.
