Full admission: I never found any of the Mescaleros records all that good. Not bad by any means, but not stupendous as many here feel. So that would be an excuse to revisit with an explicit point of re-evaluating.
I'm back on board with you Doc.
It's you and me against the world, baby!
I would probably get one CD I could really enjoy from their 3 albums.
Interesting because that is how I think of BAD but I love all 3 Meskies albums. Switch to the BHD version of Minstrel Boy and Global is ......as good as CR. I certainly listen to Global more often.
100% same.
I could probably enjoy a 2-disc BAD collection, but the the first disc would be TIBAD and the second would be everything else.

I vastly prefer the Mescaleros to BAD.
Same.

Been re-watching Mystery Train after a long long time and, apart from the fact that Memphis has obviously changed a lot in the last 25 years or so, I've got to say Joe is just not a very good actor. Not at all, to be honest.
The other episodes are still great though, especially A Ghost.

Agreed to both points. Joe got by on charisma and an audience just enjoying seeing him in a movie. Still, he was better than Lydon in
Corrupt.

I don't think he was bad in Mystery Train.

I agree especially as Joe wasn't an actor.

Deserves an oscar just for the bit where he runs.

I love the bland delivery of the line, "Me," while pointing at a newspaper.

In fairness to Lydon he admits to being no actor. But boy it's so comical when he runs in that movie I just burst out laughing.

Oh certainly. He plays Johnny Rotten very well, but beyond that, stick to your day job, kid.

Sure, but he was a fairly distinct character rarely seen in rock.
