Tony Adams is such a good fucking song, loving this album. Had it on a bit too loud, baby started crying, I got a bollocking but I can honestly say it was so worth it.
I don't want to be too negative here but I found all of Joe's post-Clash albums a little lacking. Some great songs here and there but a real lack of good melody in places and not many rocking out songs. He was only in his Forties, you are allowed to kick up some shit at that age still. We needed more Coma Girls and Rockin' Worlds and less Nitcombs and Gamma Rays.
Hello,
Agreed. Joe could still rock and that was my favorite of his inclinations (does that make sense?).

I agree that the rock-ier songs work really well, but I really like the world sound of Rock Art, it was different and creative. Goes back to what Flex was saying at the end of the day about having different ears.

Was watching Single White Female and spotted this --
A line from Global a Go Go in a world where Strummer had mediocre taste in music.
Glad all over with the Dave Clarke Five!
Glad All Over is fab!
Brilliant track. Love the Rezillos cover also.

I love Glad All Over. Love that slapback reverb on the vocals.

Been eyeing up a vinyl copy of the Acton Firefighters gig in my local music shop. Very expensive plus I already the CD but still tempted, anyone got it or heard it?
Does it include all the acts or just Meskies?

I'll say this only. Vinyl bootlegs rarely sound better than their CD counterparts.

Even Neil Young boots?
More seriously, why is that?
The Simple answer is that the majority of bootlegs end up being rushed pressings with poor quality vinyl.
