I know you're a Specials fan you might just dig the cover of "It doesn't make it alright"
Thanks
That was on Nobodys Heroes.
The live version is a bonus track on Go For It.
I have to say Roots, Radicals, Rockers and Reggae is one of the finest opening tracks on an album I've ever heard, on par with Safe European Home as the ultimate crackerjack opener.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

SLF have continued to entertain me for the last 18 or so years since they reformed with some good tunes and great live shows. I think the worlds a better place with them in it. Unlike other bands who slog on with punk reunions/nostalgia trips.
Now if the Rolling Stones had quit in '75.....thats a different story
I will join you in the minority.
If Wolter is in the minority I will join in, they've always been a great band good to see Ali Mcmordie back on bass.
I agree as well. THe albums have been solid straight up to their last, and they still put on a great energetic show.
101, did you see SLF at the Powerstation in May? A fantastic gig & worth waiting 25 yrs for! Jake compared the gig on par to a Barrowlands gig...that good!

No I didnt wish I had now. I've seen SLF numerous times but the last time was probably 1981 ?
Shame on you, 101. You missed a truely awesome gig!! The place was packed & pumping. Thee best olde reformed band I have seen.
Hey, speaking of such, there's a huge AK79 reunion gig in Nov with lot's of AK79 era bands reforming for it. Are you interested?

So have you had a rethink about "Go For It" or do Heston and myself have to come and sink that volcanic rock?

I realize that SLF lost a lot of support on that album, but looking at it from a current standpoint, it was a logical progression. There are horns and poppy arrangements but compared to how artificial most bands were sounding at the time, GFI is still very rock n roll I think. Now Then is debatable, but even that has some great moments.
Yeah, I could debate all day about how great it is!
Perfect album, though I know Jake doesn't like it.
I meant that from a sound/production standpoint, I could see how it alienated narrow minded punk fans. It's the farthest from the raw Inflammable sound. I'm a big fan of it, rockin' "That's When Your Blood Pumps" right now!
