Thanks for this, Marky. I've always been really into the Asbury Park shows ever since I saw a video clip of this show on YouTube back in 2014. Mick's guitar has a really interesting sound to it on this show, almost sounds like a twangy slide guitar you'd hear in country-western music, but I dig it. I think Terry sounds really solid on the drums too, crazy that he only had one week of rehearsals before the tour.

It's not too bad a listen. Would've liked to have have heard Mick a bit louder in the mix. But couldn't get that done without the sound distorting. Terry's drums became too loud so it's a compromise.

Thank goodness I logged in today! Thanks, Marky! I'm listening to this ASAP today. I don't think I've ever heard Ghetto Defendant live.

It's on the Paris Mogador shows.

First time i ever heard it was the ropey version on lochem. Can't remember where offhand but there's a version with mouth organ, probably played by Paul but not sure, that i always quite liked.

I really like Ghetto Defendant but I think they could've done it even better than what ended up on the album. Plus having Ginsberg on it is a downer. Not that I dislike his vocals but he is fucking horrible.

Agree with that, i do like it quite a bit too, just not as much as Sean Flynn or Inoculated City from Side 2. Ginsberg definitely problematic, always thought there was just too much of him on it first time I heard it.
