Nice stuff. Great to see some Clash doo wop, pity they never got round to doing it in the studio!

"Fitness is rock and roll....show us your pecks!" Sometimes Joe '84 interviews make me laugh, sometimes they leave me feeling sad and a bit lost. This is somewhere in between, I think. Very interesting though, thanks for posting Stefano.

I love Joe but he had completely lost the plot in 1984. I find those interviews embarrassing.
The rest of the band doing their best to look cool while Joe just babbles away doing his best to sound sincere and coming across as a berk.

I hadn't seen this one before so thanks for posting Stefano.

New to me too. Thanks for sharing!

Was this from the September 84 Italian shows? Per Ralph’s book, this was an especially bad time for joe.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah, it's overloaded with anger and none of the trademark deprecatory humour or irony of his best interviews to soften it. I do think he's sincere in his own way, but it's all so misdirected that the harder he tries, the worse it looks. Not sure what the gaffer tape on his chest is meant to signify?

Thanks to everybody. I think this interview was filmed in France, car plates and name of shops seem to be french.
Maybe, for promote their concert in Milan at the end of February, this interview happened on 22 or 23 of February in Paris, when their show was deleted cause some problems at the custom in Calais.
In some moments, especially at the start, it’s possible to see with them Kosmo also.

oh god i am so glad i wasn't the only one thinking that i cringed all the way through that nothing short of a Ricky Gervaise moment. I can even see the side way glances of the rest of the band thinking wtf now.
I found that very sad too as i think Joe was under extreme stress and that can make you behave in odd ways. But i am grateful to have seen it and thanks for posting.
