Good shout will have to check to see if they played on any of Pearls stuff.
Was just thinking the same, was sure that Paul did play on Pearl's albums and it appears that Topper did too. Never knew that...

Those Simonons really had the licks, a family of born musicians the lot of them ;)

Btw I notice Mikey Dread is listed which is interesting, as I was under impression the collaboration was all one way only. I don't see any Clash names mentioned on the discography either, unless they were having a bit of fun with the names again!

Recorded at Channel One, Kingston Jamaica and remixed at Wessex, Highbury, London by Bill Price and assisted by Jeremy Green.

So looks like they don't play on it.

From memory (haven't listened to it for a while - not a fan of Ginsberg) there wasn't much backing track on that.

Capital Air is a live track from the Bonds gig. I won't be including that.

It's strange, though, cos you'd have thought they'd be very short odds to have played on something of Mikey Dread's. Maybe they were too comfortable in their safe european homes to want to go back to Jamaica to record again?

Mick's obviously all over the rest of the album.
I have the double CD on order and I want to see if Mick and Co. are on the unreleased versioNS/outtakes.

Thanks for the info, I have the vinyl album.
i had the double CD about 10 years ago, sold it. i thought it was out of print since then?

there are some really fun and interesting tracks, but i think all are with Ian's touring band from that period (NYC guys), with Ronno as well. the only Mick track i recall is an alt mix of "Theatre of the Absurd" (the reggae track), which has a slightly different feel and slightly more MJ backing vox. i prefer it to the album version.
I second this vote for Brixton Power. Not only better than the album version, but Mick's backing vocals are loud and clear. The second album is available I think separately as Long Odds and Outtakes, at least on download. Floating around somewhere are some tracks that are original to MJ's mixes that Todd Rundgren later got his mitts into. I'll see if I have any of them to hand.
Thanks Teddy that'd be great. Is the Tymon track "Blind Lead the Blind" available anywhere?

Paul plays on this Mikey Dread track, but in 1985, so I suppose that would be JUST outside the limits there:

Pretty sure 'Blind lead the Blind' was by a band called B.I.M I think the only way you might find it is on YouTube remember there being an extended version of it as well. I hunted for it for ages a couple of years ago but had to download it off YouTube. Think it was the only thing the band ever did

Somebody was trying to tell me that CDs are better than vinyl because they don't have any surface noise. I said, "Listen, mate, "life" has surface noise."

Looks like B.I.M. had a handful of singles and an album with just the one produced by Mick a mono and stereo mix and the B-side "Might As Well Dance". Still like to know if he plays on it.
