My Clash/Joe video tribute

Post by matedog »

I posted this on Snews when IMCT was down a few weeks ago so excuse me if you have already seen it - It is a video sort of Joe tribute that is basically a compilation of him kicking ass to the Janie Jones from the Cleveland Agora (2/13/79) show. I figured most Joe tributes were a dull collection of stills set to "Redemption Song". Oh and it is my first video editing job ever, so it ain't perfect-

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I dunno if I mentioned it on Snews, but I dig it man. I'm not really a critic, but to my amateur eyes it seems pretty pissah.

Awsome, matedog. Pretty stellar if you ask me. Can I use it? Wanna include it in some teaching thingy for the next semester after the summer vacation, if it's ok with you.

Totally. I have some touching up I was planning on doing though. I can send you a much higher quality version too.

Awesome job! I love the scream edit to the Tom Snyder clip at the 1:12 mark.
Great work.

I say this with all do respect.
I can't believe Joe leaves us from a heart condition after walking his dog and not from his heart giving out from the awesome display of energy he had on stage. You would think that the shows would have done him in.

Great work, mate! As an editor, I can tell you that's one of the best first-time videos I've seen. Lots of cool cuts and moments. Keep it up!

That was AWESOME, matey!!! :D
Some of my favorite Joe-footage in there (minus the Rude Boy Police & Thieves, which may be my favorite). I love that you sped up the footage --- it totally works.

I may have to download that one.... :shifty: :shifty:

ACE.

I didn't actually speed up any footage. What seemed sped up?

goog job my friend!
The greatest legacy he leaves is that he made a generation of people think for themselves. He didnt quite manage to change the world but he changed the way people looked at it. It's a sad day - but what a life
