Well, he’s talking about Carbon/Silicon as a going concern in that piece so guessing it has to be minimum 6-7 years old, likely more. Round 2004/5 is when he finally kicked the addiction for good I think.
He kicked heroin around the time he moved back to Dover. Late 90s/early 00s I believe. He was an alcoholic for a bit longer and I think got fully sober around 2003-2005. I wouldn’t bet my life savings on those dates, but that’s my understanding from interviews, bios, and when I met people in Dover that knew him.

Also, I’ll buy this book in a heartbeat!

He was in St Mongos in the Harrow Road in mid 90’s which was probably his rock bottom.
