Their brochure is here. The shows are from page 16/17. The US Festival doesn’t have London Calling at the start, so I am guessing they haven’t exactly bothered to use the Marky Dread Remasters for this. According to the Clash City Collectors Facebook page this is a semi official release and the band will get royalties, so I have ordered it.
Deny, there are single vinyl releases too!
There is a Marky Dread Remaster of Us Festival? I must have missed that one?
I did immediately think Lowry too but then again, weren't his drawings a lot more life like than those ones?
They are all Ray Lowry drawings. The image has been used on a DVD and as Heston said a book. This release looks like it's all the good sounding stuff available from radio and tv hence the Japan show etc is incomplete. Will be interesting to see if any remastering has taken place. I expect it to sound good but I doubt the producers would go to much trouble in cleaning up any sound that's why they chose stuff that already has decent sound.

Yes, the packaging is pretty nicely done (if cheaply, just hijacking other releases/imagery) but looking at the sheer range of product Coda Records have released, I doubt they'll have spent any time on comparing best sources, remastering/EQing etc. They seem like an outfit that just sources decent-sounding shows from t'interweb, and presses them up on vinyl/CD.
Good value, and a neat way for newcomers to explore acts' unfamiliar material, but I doubt there's any vast upgrades here for seasoned fans like us.
I'd like to be proved wrong of course.

Yes mate that's it. However I'm probably in a minority here in that I don't care much for Lowry's drawings as cover art. They work as little illustrations on inner sleeves etc but not as the main cover art. I expect the makers of this thought they would look more authentic but it's just really lazy re-using those images.

Yikes, that's a lot of clipping. As usual, the marky master wins it.

I completely agree - cover art means as much to me as the contents
I'm listening to Disc 2-Passaic NJ, 1980 and it sounds good. Basically all they have done is the old trick of making the source sound louder.
Here is a screenshot of the file for ''Clash City Rockers'' from the new set against my remaster. Mine is the second darker blue file.
Which one is yours MarkY?
?
The second WAV file in the screenshot. The one that isn't over loud and maxed out. The one that is the darker blue colour.
The one that is approved by Norman Hunter that is not as loud as others but has more bite. Got it now sunshine!
