Marky, what method do you use to decide on the running order? I have my own techniques but I'm always curious about others' thought processes when they put mixes together.
I listen to everything back to back and see how they feel side by side and how compatible they are musically sounding and often thematically. I create many examples then pick the most well ballanced versions.
Sounds pretty close to my method, but do you subscribe to the notion that there are proper slots for songs on a tracklist? Such as track one having a particular feeling (usually storming out of the gate), track 2 building on that, track 3 pulling back a bit, tracks 5 and 7 being the best tracks on the album, etc?
You are talking CD not vinyl though 😊

This is a great version of the album. The band obviously wanted to mix and match and sprawl the story, which was very cool, but this probably would have gone over better, saving the dubs for album three.

You can never have too much Junco/Version Partner/Pardner in your life, a joy to listen to MD!
Glad you are liking it. I'm pleased with the mix. You can hear little bits extra in this mix.
Love the work you've put into it. Having a beer and relistening again to Living in Fame. I am a contented man.

Cheers as always Marky! I'll download when I get home tonight and give it a spin this evening or tomorrow.

I've always been meaning to ask, what sources do you use for your mixes?

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

Got another operation a week on Thursday. That will be five in two and a half years. :meh:

Funnily enough it is the same day that Endgame is released here in the UK! X(

Absolutely Kory the pacing is a big thing. Sometimes though the strength of a songs playing/writing is not in it's ferocity like say SEH but in it's ability to grab you after a couple of listens like (WM) iHP. I remember that interview with Joe where he said they used to like to hit you smack on the head at first but then realised a few strokes of the hammer here and there were more powerful. I like this tactic very much.
