Well not really mate but none of those tracks belonged on the US version. It would've made sense to just add the whole EP as the freebie single and use that as extra selling/marketing point.dave202 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2019, 9:44amSwap Janie Jones with Clash City Rockers and you are not only partially addressing having 5 A sides on the first side, but returning Janie Jones as the opening track like the UK version. I also think CCR would be better later, so starting the second side with that would have made more sense to me.
I agree I Fought The Law was out of place, but the Canadian labum, with the Groovy Times/Gates Of The West helped it to fit in with that collection. Is that opening another can of worms?

I dont mind the temporal discrepancies in the US S/T. It kinda adds to the charm -- the album itself is like a punk's stitched together jacket. A lot of my favorite punk albums are odds n sods collections.
One of the worst contributions the Beatles made to music was the idea of 'album purity.' Rock n roll is messy.

Speaking of the Beatles and discrepancies between US/UK albums...I've always felt Meet the Beatles was a superior collection of songs to what was put out in the UK...but then Capital had the luxury of picking through the material and assembling it. The original albums were created in the moment and didn't have the luxury of time and hindsight.msza2 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2019, 12:25pmI dont mind the temporal discrepancies in the US S/T. It did also. The Canadian blue/purple version and your version (green) are exactly the same bar the colour.101Walterton wrote: ↑16 May 2019, 11:11pmI thought I read somewhere on here it came with the Canadian blue version.Marky Dread wrote: ↑16 May 2019, 7:34pmYep loads of them made mate. Re: The Clash UK/US
I don't think it's a rare item, everything depends on wear conditions and how much the seller wants to earn us! But it is a beautiful collector's item.
