The Equaliser
The Equaliser
It never really occurred to me before reading Martin Poppoff's book that the dub section of the song precedes the actual song itself.
Never realised it
Proper man invents wheel moment for me nearly 40 years later
Perhaps someone(Marky) could put the beginning to the end in a conventional style just to see how it would have sounded.

I was speaking with Matedog about this very thing on Facebook a few months back. The song kind of restarts itself about 1:39 in.white man wrote: ↑02 May 2019, 3:52amIt never really occurred to me before reading Martin Poppoff's book that the dub section of the song precedes the actual song itself.

It's here without the dub at the start...

I had that same experience about 15 years ago. Someone mentioned it started with the dub and my mind popped.white man wrote: ↑02 May 2019, 3:52amIt never really occurred to me before reading Martin Poppoff's book that the dub section of the song precedes the actual song itself.

Have you been voting in the survivor poll? It did quite well, I've a lot of time for it myself.white man wrote: ↑02 May 2019, 1:09pmBeat me by 25 years Not my favourite Clash track by a long stretch mind you.It would get left out on the double album versionWolter wrote: ↑02 May 2019, 7:44amI had that same experience about 15 years ago. I really can't put my finger on why I love this song the way I do.

its awesomeness, perhaps?
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Re: The Equaliser
Yeah, it's not really a typical Clash song that I would usually love but something does it for me.

Re: The Equaliser
I prefer it the way it is with the dub at the start. The song builds up nicely. That alledged unreleased promo version sounds to jarring.

Re: The Equaliser
Yes, I think it could be phoney, but that is how The Equaliser would sound without the dub. That portion is definitely tagged on on the Sandinista version.
