Just checked the alt take of Clash City Rockers and noticed the drums are different, especially at the end, so is definitely an alternate take rather than a rough mix.
What is the alt take?
Prefer that.

Thanks. What a mess.

The wiki article that says it was speed corrected for every compilation since the US version of the debut album is a bit wrong then.

It's on the "Guttersnipes from Garageland" comp of the first album and all the outtakes etc that I put together. Does anybody actually listen to anything I upload.

First 3 Buzzcocks albums and demos/outtakes etc all remastered and sounding great as per Kory's request. Just checking all recording info so I can add an info sheet with the upload.

Remastered the "All The Peacemakers" Set with some additions. Sounds great also.

The Dread stick will be on its way to you next week sometime all being well.

I'm just reworking the CBS outtakes as a couple run too fast. I've found my old tape from the late 70s and they sound better.

I first heard it before that mate on the DOA comp, I just never realized it was a totally different take. I always thought it was just a rough mix of the track we know.

That was the point of me rounding up everything in one package. I've had those CBS outtakes Oct/Nov '77 on a tape since the late 70s which I've recently found again. I'm remastering them. That D.O.A. CD comp didn't come out until the late 80s.

But yeah a completely different version just like the takes of "The Prisoner" "1-2 Crush on You" and "Pressure Drop".
What we don't have is the mix/version of "Complete Control" that had some input from Lee "Scratch" Perry.

Is the Prisoner a different take? Sounds like the same backing track to me with a different mix. And obviously the alternate solo.

Yeah, different backing, no overdubbed lead guitar fills here and there and a different lead vocal - lots of Joe's phrasing/diction sounds subtly different and of course no 'yeah, yeah' just before the guitar solo.
I'd forgotten all about this!
