Black Market Clash EP sleeve
I always used to believe that the rasta featured in the photo on the Black Market Clash EP sleeve was Don Letts. However I was told by a knowledgeable source that it isn't. Anyone got any insight / thoughts on this?

That story always seemed too convenient to me.FarawayTowns wrote: ↑29 Jan 2020, 4:26pmI always used to believe that the rasta featured in the photo on the Black Market Clash EP sleeve was Don Letts. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

That's what another longterm Calsh fan I know said when I told them. They weren't at all surprised to hear that it wasn't Don.matedog wrote: ↑29 Jan 2020, 4:34pmThat story always seemed too convenient to me.FarawayTowns wrote: ↑29 Jan 2020, 4:26pmI always used to believe that the rasta featured in the photo on the Black Market Clash EP sleeve was Don Letts. My source told me that it's well known not to be Don on 'The Grove' but that it's a myth that he's more than happy to perpetuate.

I don't agree I think it is Don. Don has long since said that he wasn't walking towards the police line as the sleeve makes it seem. But walking away to get far away from the heavy situation.
Here's Don wearing the waistcoat that I believe he's wearing on the sleeve.

It would be pretty sad if Don lied about it. He doesn't seem that type of bloke at all. This "source" is obviously wrong.

Yeah, the photo looks pretty obviously faked—the main figure superimposed on the photo—and it seems entirely plausible that the band would use a friend, especially one who was there.Marky Dread wrote: ↑31 Jan 2020, 4:33pmI don't agree I think it is Don. Never considered that the photo is faked but looking it again you may have a good point.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑31 Jan 2020, 7:45pmYeah, the photo looks pretty obviously faked—the main figure superimposed on the photo—and it seems entirely plausible that the band would use a friend, especially one who was there.Marky Dread wrote: ↑31 Jan 2020, 4:33pmI don't agree I think it is Don. Thanks for the video. As I initially stated I never questioned the truth of the story it's only since I was told that it was a myth that I have questioned it.BR16ADE_R055E wrote: ↑31 Jan 2020, 9:35pmDon says it's him. Also as an aside I was also told (by a different source) that one of the people looking out of the windows above is one of the Members. (JC Carroll I believe but will have to get that confirmed).
