Yup, 'Revolution Rock' was played a few times mid 1980, also got an airing at Bristol June 1980.
Wasn’t it played at the Lyceum in October 1981?
Pretty certain it wasn't, they played 7 shows so it's not impossible although they were focussing on playing Sandinista! tracks, Radio Clash + Futura funk with advance Combat Rock songs plus the punk period classics.
It was played on the 25 October show at least.
You are correct. Played on 22 & 25 during that Lyceum run. The song has 10 live airings according to setlist, the first in December 79, Acklam Hall, London.
50p for a Clash gig Xmas '79.
I've got this boot but awful sound for a great performance of the new LC tracks.

What a great gig to have been at!

"Christmas 1979 the Clash played Acklam Hall, previewing their third album ‘London Calling’. Viv Goldman wrote in her Melody Maker review of ‘the Clash Christmas dinner dance’: ‘A cheery gent looks out of the tiny school-gym-like Acklam Hall and calls out: “Anyone wanna see the Clash? 50 pence.” Invitation is strictly word of mouth because it’s like a block party, the kind they have in New York, where the whole neighbourhood piles into the street and has fun together.’"

Fascinating history, that venue. Lived very close by for a year late 80s but never knew it existed! U2 were next to play after the clash, would have been a good show in early 1980 i reckon.
