Thanks
Vol 5
Clash City Covers - A Clash Cover Project Vol. 5 - Various Artists ( re-seed by request)
After the VU, the Stones and Bruuuuce, one of my all-time favourite band: The CLASH!!!!
I know , of course, that The Clash covered themselves these songs:
http://www.sharoma.com/clash/items/covers_rock.htm
Bo Diddley - Mona (I Need You Baby)
Bobby Fuller Four/ Sonny Curtis - I Fought The Law
Booker T And The MGs - Time Is Tight
The Equals - Police On My Back
Jackie Edwards - Get Up
Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come
Junior Murvin - Police & Thieves
Lee Perry - Bad Weed
Lee Perry - Grumblin' Dub
Lee Perry - Magic Touch
Lee Perry - Soldier And Police Ware
Max Romeo - A Quarter Pound Of L'Cense
Mose Allison - Look Here
Professor Longhair - Junco Partner
Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop
Ray Charles - Hit The Road Jack
The Maytals - Pressure Drop
The Rulers - Wrong 'Em Boyo
The Slickers - Johnny Too Bad
The Small Faces - Every Little Bit Hurts
Vince Taylor & His Playboys - Brand New Cadillac
Wanda Jackson - Fujiyama Mama
Willie Williams - Armagideon Time
Nevertheless, they added to most of these songs such an energy, such "rock'n roll"
that I consider these songs became different...
Who should have known "Brand new cadillac" if the Clash didn't cover it?
So, I'll include MOST of these covers (but not the whole list) in the project.
I've done nothing to the tracks except some little things with Audacity ( removing gaps here and there, fading out...).
I've tried to do the best I could.
I've included the origin of each track. Sound quality changes but it's good enough all the time.
ARTWORK INCLUDED tHANKS sTEPHBEAR!!!
All tracks have been downloaded and permitted on Dime or archive.org
