Popular consensus on this board among those that know the boots really well always seemed to be that the Bonds shows were not so great. Has opinion shifted?
Depends on what floats your boat. They are not as energy filled as the Mogador shows but then not many are. You have to appreciate the band needed to pace themselves with 17 shows pretty much back to back. Some of the problems I had was the fact that the original masters have a distant and flat sound. I have tried very hard to rectify this. I'm pleased with how they sound now but of course you need to make your own mind up. Plus if you've not heard the originals you have nothing to form an opinion on. Depends how much you are into The Clash as they have been on the Mega list for a long time and a lot of fans bought the Snoh box set. I know they sound better now or I'll have been wasting my time.
I only have an old cassette from one of them, I always thought it was a good show but I get shouted down for my boot opinions here most of the time.

I dig a lot of 1982 Terry shows which isn't the most popular opinion around here either.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Shouted down by who mate? I'll sort 'em out for you.

Seriously it's all subjective to what you like and expect. There are better shows available than the Bond shows but that said I personally enjoy them.

Some more observations on the first show. I'm not the biggest fan of Junco Partner anyway but live it is a real mood killer. Definitely a toilet song.

Jesus that is a super fast version of Ivan. It really benefits live from that chorus key change after the solo.

Any ideas anyone? As I’ve now got time on my hands, and inspired by Marky’s efforts on this, I dragged a box of cds/cdrs out of storage with a view to ripping them to hard drive. One of them was the “This is Radio Clash” double cd (snotty snail) of Bonds. I am aware that this is the same mix as Bondage at Bonds and Chaos in New York etc... However, there was a third unlabelled/unmarked CD-R in the case (which I obviously picked up from somewhere). Played it and it is an 18 track edited version of the same gig but with a superior mix (sounds pro mixed to me). Backing vocals right up in the mix etc... Any ideas what it is? Age is a terrible thing...

Could be actually. I did look at that earlier and my CD-R has no radio announcements at all so discounted it. I’m gonna have to check BNC now to see if it’s cut. Thanks.
