New Show To Me, just appeared on Dime

Link Below if anyone wants it

The Clash

Lineage is unknown. It might be the master.
It's low-gen if not. I couldn't find any record of this showbeing circulated before. Blackmarketclash.co.uk has ticket scans and a couple news articles but no setlist or recording notes.

Cassette > Technics cassette deck >ProTools (EQ/Volume/Widen/24-48 WAV) >SoundForge (split, Flac).

Thanks CDS!
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Hey Matey,

I keep getting a corrupted file error on download.

Never mind-- just had to redirect it from StuffIt, which is my default compressor.

Sound is maybe a 2.5. I've heard a lot worse and the instrumentation/vocals are pretty clear, just a bit of a layer of distortion. Always good to have new shows and this setlist is a pretty different order from the ones after (same songs, just different order), so that's kind of interesting.

Great show. A bit compression and equalization might clean it up a bit.

Thanks for sharing this, I like the way this setlist flows quite a bit. Decent sound too, always nice to have more from this era.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

Pete sounds like he's having a lot of fun on Mag 7.

He sounds like 5 drummers on some of these tracks. Fucking Drumzilla.

I think this might be the best show they ever did.

Thanks for calling that out, I usually skip that one, but damn this one is fun. "Get your car out of that gear!" hits are a lot of fun. CK and I were just talking about how good he is on this.

Look forward to hearing that! I've never seen either of those Detroit shows on anybody's list, so it's cool to see it pop up at last. From what I can see, and recollect -- this being 30-odd years ago -- the setlist seems pretty similar to the one from the gig that I caught, at MSU (May 9), which has yet to surface, of course. But finds like this one allow me to hope, and dream, if only just a little bit. :-)
