See this thread for all the info but Gerald basically isolated the vocals on Cut the Crap and rebuilt the music around them using the 1984 live versions as a guide.

Thanks Heston, much appreciated - somehow missed this discussion - but wow this album sounds great!
It really does. I think some great (and not so great) songs were given a chance to shine in a more sympathetic arrangement.
