I hate myself for saying this but...I agree?Heston wrote: ↑27 Apr 2021, 7:21pmOh dear, I might have to search out that poll where I unexpectedly won. The album version is way better for me.Sparky wrote: ↑27 Apr 2021, 7:07pmRegardless of who was or could have been the better drummer for their first album, I will say without a doubt the Vanilla version of Remote Control is the best ever, never really cared for the song until hearing this version. Not that it's a bad song, just wasn't as strong or catchy as the others on the album IMO.

The Vanilla version just sounds like a half-assed run through. The album version has one of Mick's best ever guitar solos and a coherent performance.Wolter wrote: ↑28 Apr 2021, 8:44amI hate myself for saying this but...I agree?Heston wrote: ↑27 Apr 2021, 7:21pmOh dear, I might have to search out that poll where I unexpectedly won. Just listened to both versions again, I think it's the guitar on the Vanilla version that grabs me more than the other.Heston wrote: ↑28 Apr 2021, 9:25amThe Vanilla version just sounds like a half-assed run through. Other than the stairs and the Rehearsal Rehearsals shots, any idea where these outtakes are from? Camden is pretty dense and developed. At least 40 years after the photos were taken when I went there.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Well the other shots are from the British Rail yard that was where Rehearsal Rehearsals was situated long before that area became the market it is now.
Here's another shot from a different shoot taken in that area and you can see the rail lines and The Roundhouse in the distance where Joe had played previously with The 101ers.

How many clash photo books actually exist? I feel like there should be more on market. I understand google free images is a great resource but sometimes it’s nice to be able to flip through a book and see everything collected.

Pennie Smith & Bob Gruen both have really good Clash photo books out. I had to search a bit, but was able to get used copies of both online.RockNRollWhore wrote: ↑28 Apr 2021, 8:25pmHow many clash photo books actually exist? I feel like there should be more on market. The worst is the Nicky Polaroid album. Cost 200$ upon release. Now cheaper than chips on Amazon.
