Come to think of it even topper was that way. I reckon it suited the clashes music better

Topper also used 16 inch Hi Hats which is another big difference. Typically you only see funk and breakbeat guys using those big boys.

As a drummer and a drummer who really has an issue with Terry, the lack of Topper on the debut doesn't bother me at all. Yeah, it probably would have sounded marginally better, but nothing that particularly substantial. My main Terry gripes have to do with 1982.
So your argument doesn't belong in this thread. Take it to the "Why was Terry crap in '82" thread. ;)
I though this was a "Terry Was Crap in 82" message board?
No this is a "KISS/Replacements/Warrant/Cherry Pie/Who is this Terry guy board".

One of the best sounds ever on a Clash record was that damaged hi-hat or cymbal on Jail Guitar Doors. ;)

I joined because I thought it was a community of people who'd had their spines damaged by Terry, then stuck around for the promise (unfulfilled as yet!) of imitation crab meat.

I've always wondered what half the sounds on Sandanista were tbh. Like the beginning of the street parade. What the fuck is that supposed to be?

When I first got the debut LP, I didn't know who was who on the cover. I kinda assumed Paul was the singer, Mick the guitarist and Joe the drummer.

I'm sure I read that Topper had a bent hi-hat.
