I've also remastered all the 101ers stuff I've got. And boy could Joe play some serious rhythm guitar. I think it was really played down in the early Clash days. I remember one producer saying Joe's guitar was a horrible scratchy sound but on the material The 101ers recorded by Vic Maile at Rickmansworth it sounds fantastic.

OK, listening to this while sitting on the couch reading a book. Tell the Mrs. what I'm listening to and she grabs my headphones to check it out.....now I've gotta share...damn.

Marky, I explained what you do with "rare tapes" to the wife and then told her about Vanilla Studios, she's digging it. Thanks from the two of us.

It's really refreshing to come back to this without the heavy expectations that were there with the original release. The sound is great in my headphones and it feels like I'm in the rehearsal room with them. Thanks again for this Marky.

That producer was an asshole. It was a scratchy sound but a great sound.Marky Dread wrote: ↑27 Apr 2021, 4:55pmI've also remastered all the 101ers stuff I've got. Re: The Vanilla Sessions
What does Joe say in Koka Kola before "and your silicone nose", is it "matching wall and pose?"

Re: The Vanilla Sessions
I heard it as "matching wall imposed" but you may be right.
Listening again on headphones the second time Joe sings the line in the song it sounds like "matching woolen clothes".

Currently loving Mick's double tracked vocals on Lost In the Supermarket.

Heston says it all perfectly. Headphones on right now, and it's great to revisit this stuff in such freshened up sound.

this borders on revelatory. You gotta listen to this one on headphones, folks.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
