I'd listen, but please replace WAC with Glue Zombie or something.

Heck yes. I imagine Joe would’ve cannibalized the verses for a better song with a good chorus.

Can we also assume Shouting Street might’ve made it on this? Or do it and the Permanent Record tracks end up on the next release?

I honestly think the 6th Clash record would have sounded more like TRAC than anything else. Though probably with a bit less saxophone. That was where Mick was at musically in late 83/early 84 when another Clash record would have been expected. And he was always the musical director.

I quite like We Are the Clash. Idk could be a bit tongue in cheek with the we are the world thing. N2M the fallout between mick and joe, if they had overcome that adversity. It's a great tune as well

Trash City would be great.

I'm thinking there would be some punk throwback stuff from Joe though. Honestly would have been cool to see them try and reconcile the two ends of the spectrum.

I was thinking Shouting Street too. Did we ever have confirmation on when it was actually written?

Joe supposedly phoned up Paul and said he had a new song written sometime late 85” early 86”. So it was after CTC. I forget where I read that.

there was a press release announcing Shouting Street as the next Clash single just before the final split.

So the real question is if they banged this one out in the studio

Anyone know if Sudden Impact and Medicine Show are Don lyrics, Mick lyrics or a collaboration?

I mean yeah not all these songs are period correct. I'm just moreso thinking of what a hypothetical 6th Clash album would have sounded stylistically. I always got the feeling that BAD songs were moreso born out of jam sessions? Idk seeing them live in 2012 the seemed to have that freewheeling feel to them. I could be way off base though. Definitely stuff on Megatop Pheonix seems to be them screwing around in the studio with samplers, drumboxes and such.

I have a bunch of hypothetical what if tracklistings that I've made up.

This is an ultra shortened verison of Combat Rock:

1.Know Your Rights
2.This is Radio Clash
3.Should I Stay or Should I go
4.Rock the Casbah
5.Straight to Hell (Extended Version)
6.The Beautiful People are Ugly Too
7.Ghetto Defendant (Extended)
8.Sean Flynn (Extended)

It's honestly kind of a perfect record this way. Side A is banger after banger. Side B falls into this almost dreamlike ambience. Give it a spin sometime.
